Business World's Camille Erika R. Sarte stated in a review that the film's plot is essentially the same as its predecessor's and moviegoers who missed the previous film need not worry about catching up with story elements as the sequel conveniently explains the details throughout. In terms of performances, Marian Rivera was praised while Lorna Tolentino's presence as the antagonist only served as a preview of things to come in potential sequels. Lastly, Sarte described Bong Revilla as a "bit too old for the Panday role," and at times lacked on-screen chemistry with the younger ladies in the film.[2]
In the online review at PEP.ph, Mark Angelo Ching noted that the film's use of an invincible protagonist in Flavio made the narrative somewhat predictable. In addition, the humor also ruins whatever attempts were made to make the film feel like an epic. Benjie Paras, who served as the chief comic relief in the film, ended up being not too funny for Ching. On the production values, the film was praised for its "exceptional production design and visual effects".[3]
ClickTheCity.com's Philbert Ortiz Dy criticized the film for being more of the same, stating that the "details are different, but it all plays out the same. Flavio bravely declares his intention to take out Lizardo, and then goes off in a random direction, encountering all sorts of villains along the way. There’s no sense of progression or geography to his journey."[4]
